De gebouwen langs de Joseph Haydnlaan in Utrecht, zichtbaar achter het hek, kennen een rijke geschiedenis. Net voordat ze hun oorspronkelijke doel konden dienen als het Centraal Militair Hospitaal, namen de Duitse bezettingskrachten tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog de gebouwen over voor gebruik als hoofdkwartier van de Kriegsmarine. Na de bevrijding is het complex in gebruik genomen als het Tweede Nederlands Militair Hospitaal. Sinds 2019 dienen deze gebouwen onder andere als een asielzoekerscentrum (AZC).

The buildings along the Joseph Haydnlaan in Utrecht, visible behind the fence, have a rich history. Just before they could serve their original purpose as the Central Military Hospital, German occupation forces during World War II took over the buildings for use as Kriegsmarine headquarters. After liberation, the complex was put to use as the Second Dutch Military Hospital. Since 2019, these buildings have served, among other things, as an asylum seekers' center (AZC).
