Want to visit some of the lesser-known iconic buildings in HCMC? This ancient high school might be worth a visit.
Le Hong Phong High School for The Gifted boasts itself as one of the oldest operating high schools in HCMC, having been built by the French in 1927. Spanning 8 hectres in area, its architectural design is inspired by that of the French, displaying a sense of antiquity and intellectuality. It is commonly regarded as one of the best and most competitive high schools in the Vietnamese Southern region, receiving multiple national and international awards from highly selective academic competitions. This high school is where the 1950 student movement against French colonialism occurred, and has been a venerable icon of Saigon ever since.
As it is not advisable to be in direct sight of the school, you will instead be marvelling at a top-down view of the school from an overpass nearby. To avoid being seen by mugglers and occassional students using the overpass, refrain from accessing the cache in these periods: 6:00-7:30 (when school and working hours start) and 16:30-17:15 (when school and working hours end). Other than that, as the overpass connects to a shopping mall on the opposite side of the school, you should be able to access the cache without looking suspicious.
NOTE: The cache is covered out of plain sight, so you may have to do some scouting. Hide the cache as hidden.
