Franciszek Firlik (biolog, nauczyciel), urodził się 17.01.1909 roku w Bronowie k/Pleszewa. Od 1921 roku członek i drużynowy 16 PDH im gen. J. Bema. W 1931 roku mianowany na stopień harcmistrza. Od 1930 roku instruktor i wizytator Wielkopolskiej Komendy Chorągwi Harcerzy. Od kwietnia 1940 roku Komendant Poznańskiej Chorągwi Szarych Szeregów. Aresztowany przez Gestapo w dniu 18.06.1941 roku i uwięziony w poznańskim Domu Żołnierza – miejsce i data śmierci jest nie znana.
Ulica położona jest w dzielnicy Jeżyce okręg Podolany stanowi przedłużenie ul. M. Jaroczyńskiego. Nazwę ulicy nadano w 1990 roku Uchwałą nr XVI/99/90 Miejskiej Rady Narodowej m. Poznania.
