Kitsap County Parks & Our Forest Fund

Tree planting at Wicks Lake !!!

10:00 am - 1:00 pm

As a Kitsap Parks Forest Steward and newly appointed Lead Volunteer, I have received an invitation that I am happy to share with you!

Come join Our Forest Fund, Kitsap County Parks, and other volunteers on Sunday, March 17, 2024, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, for a special work party to interplant trees in newly thinned areas at Wicks Lake, in the south part of Kitsap County. This is the last session of the tree planting season.

This is a great way to help improve wildlife habitat and forest resiliency.

If you've never planted trees before, this is your opportunity to learn about restorative forestry! Arno Bergstrom, the county forester emeritus, along with several Kitsap Parks Forest Stewards will teach you all you need to know to plant a legacy.

Meet at the posted coordinates. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots and work gloves. Bring water and snacks if you so desire. If you have a narrow shovel, bring it along. Five gallon buckets are helpful, too. See you there!
