A Lagoa e a Barrinha da Praia de Mira fazem parte do Sítio da Rede Natura 2000 denominado Dunas de Mira, Gândara e Gafanhas, classificado como área de interesse prioritário para a conservação da biodiversidade Europeia. A Lagoa e a Barrinha são pequenas lagoas abastecidas por cursos de água doce, pelo que são habitats extremamente sensíveis a alterações ambientais e contêm comunidades biológicas particulares, nomeadamente em relação à diversidade de libélulas e libelinhas.
Para além dos tradicionais passeios de gaivota ou de barca, a barrinha da Praia de Mira e a Lagoa permitem praticar desportos como o kitesurf, o Padel, o remo e a pesca. Em todo o seu redor, com toda a biodiversidade existente, estas zonas reúnem um enorme potencial para a realização de atividades de passeio e de práticas de birdwatching, fotografia e de observação de espécies.
Os viveiros aqui existentes permitem que a observação do habitat natural de mais de 200 espécies e a compreensão do papel de cada uma na natureza, aliada à informação científica que é disponibilizada junto a cada habitat, contribua para a formação de cidadãos, para uma maior consciência ambiental e maior sensibilidade para a Conservação das Espécies e Preservação do Ambiente.

O Município de Mira pretende que este local sirva de inspiração para que todos se aproximem e usufruam da natureza de forma consciente e responsável. Que possam senti-la crua, indomável e selvagem. Que possam aprender observando, tocando e ouvindo, encorajando que a vivenciem tal como ela é! Aqui, a água entra no sistema provinda da barrinha de Mira numa cota mais alta, nos tanques a nascente, através de valas, circulando por eles e saindo novamente por valas que a transportam para os tanques a poente, seguindo novamente por valas que ligam ao chamado lago do mar, a Barrinha da Praia de Mira, que depois desagua no mar propriamente dito. Todo este sistema é um modelo hidráulico de referência que permite sustentabilidade e boas práticas ambientais.
Neste projeto, pensámos numa Multi, com um ponto intermédio (stage2), em que o geocacher vai visitar um local muito aprazível, entre a Lagoa (Barrinha) e a Praia de Mira, com muito para ver e desfrutar, tendo que ter em atenção que o local é muito frequentado, apesar de termos escolhido locais para esconder que não vão despertar muito a atenção dos outos visitantes,
é necessário estar MUITO atento e escolher a altura ideal...saber dissimular também faz parte deste desafio. A composição desta multi é muito interessante, porém com algumas surtpresas... Cache recomendada para ser visitada em familia em especial com crianças!

The Lagoon and Praia de Mira beach are part of the Natura 2000 Network Site called Dunas de Mira, Gândara and Gafanhas, classified as an area of priority interest for the conservation of European biodiversity. Lagoon and Barrinha are small lagoons supplied by freshwater courses, meaning they are habitats that are extremely sensitive to environmental changes and contain particular biological communities, particularly in relation to the diversity of dragonflies and damselflies.
In addition to traditional pedal boat or boat trips, the Praia de Mira bar and the Lagoon allow you to practice sports such as kitesurfing, paddle tennis, rowing and fishing. All around, with all the existing biodiversity, these areas have enormous potential for carrying out walking activities and birdwatching, photography and species observation.
The nurseries that exist here allow the observation of the natural habitat of more than 200 species and the understanding of the role of each one in nature, combined with the scientific information that is made available next to each habitat, contributing to the formation of citizens, to greater awareness environment and greater sensitivity to the Conservation of Species and Preservation of the Environment.
Take advantage of the location of this cache and participate in this natural epic by letting yourself be immersed in the natural environment! The Municipality of Mira intends for this place to serve as an inspiration for everyone to get closer to and enjoy nature in a conscious and responsible way. May they feel it raw, untamed and wild. May they learn by observing, touching and listening, encouraging them to experience it as it is! Here, water enters the system from the lagoon and Barrinha de Mira at a higher level, in the tanks to the east, through ditches, circulating through them and leaving again through ditches that transport it to the tanks to the west, following again through ditches that connect to the called the sea lake, Barrinha da Praia de Mira beach, which then flows into the sea proper. This entire system is a reference hydraulic model that allows sustainability and good environmental practices.
In this project, we thought of a Multi, with an intermediate point (stage2) in which the geocacher will visit a very pleasant place, between Lagoa (Barrinha) and Praia de Mira, with a lot to see and enjoy, having to pay attention : The place is very popular, so we chose places to hide that won't attract much attention from other visitors, but pay atention to the muggles.. disguise and dissimulation are also part of this challenge!!!
The composition of this multi is very interesting, but with some surprises... Cache recommended to be visited as a family, especially with children!
