As we venture from the historical markets of Sham Shui Po, through the neon-lit streets of Mong Kok, to the cultural crossroads of Yau Ma Tei, each cache will reveal the unique essence and stories of these districts. Our journey begins in Tai Kok Tsui, symbolizing the bridge between my first series and the new experiences that await.

Kwong Wah Hospital has been a beacon of medical care and innovation since its inception in 1911. This charitable institution, an integral part of the Government's Kowloon hospital network, stands proudly on Waterloo Road, embodying a rich history of serving the community's health needs. Over the years, it has established itself as a critical emergency hospital and a referral center for neurosurgery and obstetrics, pioneering comprehensive services like the Integrated Breast Centre to provide education, diagnosis, treatment, counseling, and rehabilitation all under one roof.
In front of this venerable institution, visitors now witness the juxtaposition of history and progress: the newly-renovated emergency facility gleams with modernity, while a construction site buzzes with activity, signaling the ongoing expansion and renewal efforts. This landscape of change underscores its commitment to adapting and growing to meet the evolving healthcare demands of Hong Kong. The hospital's recent redevelopment, part of a phased reconstruction plan, has introduced a sprawling new building that houses over 1,200 beds and 14 operating theaters, enhancing patient care with a one-stop day medical center and streamlining treatment and health management in a city that never sleeps.
