Weston Oval has seen better days and used to be quite the hub of activity before the closure of Weston Creek Pre-school and Primary school in 2006 which were located adjacent to the oval. The cricket pitch, tennis courts, and skate park still draw the most activity to the area these days, along with dog walkers, and the sheltered picnic table attracts occasional events by local community groups. It seems where there is leisure activity these days, it sadly often means there is rubbish left lying around and the nearby Golden Arches establishement unfortunately contributes to the litter volume as well.
Needless to say, the area would benefit from a good clean-up!
Plastic bags will be supplied, BYO garden gloves and pick up tool if you have one. Definitely wear suitable footwear and clothing, along with sunscreen and a hat as it is quite an exposed area.
You may even like to bring your water shoes as there is a drain nearby that tends to collect a bit of rubbish also!
