Travelling along the Desert Road on my way to the Cannonball Run IV Weekend of fun, involving two nights camping at the Kimberley Reserve in Levin.
The mountains look amazing, and as we zoomed past I spotted this Trig (black and white trig beacon) and knew I had to hide a cache here.
The trig is part of New Zealand's geodetic system, and is used for deformation monitoring. A network of control marks that serve as physical reference points. These marks are also used by surveyors to determine the location of property boundaries in relation to the official geodetic datum.
Follow your phone to the correct spot, the cache is not hidden at the trig.
