Most Hated Man Traditional Cache

This commemorative sign marks the spot of the hanging of Jack McCall, who was considered to be the "Most hated man of the Dakotas"! He was tried and acguitted in Deadwood, the place hw shot and killed Wild Bill Hickock. The jury let him off because he claimed that Wild Bill had killed his brother- later proved false since  Jack's brother Lorenzo showed up at his Yankton trial! The Territorial Government deemed the Spearfish trial illegal and re-tried, convicted and hung him here in Yankton the Territorial Capital. Legal lore says that he was buried with the rope around his neck. He is supposedly buried in an unmarked grave in the Yankto Sacred Heart Cemetary!  ABOUT THE CACHE: It is small and well hidden in a speciaized cammoed container-which is in plain sight. It is NOT on the ground.
