Geocache Description:

Another year has gone and another years’ worth of reports of a Leprechaun in the park have come into the office.  Thanks to all of those who have tried to help that park staff confirm these stories and those who have added to them.

This year once again started off where last year ended.  This area of the park is off the beaten path and just the area one might start looking for a Leprechaun.

An early morning couple who came into the park to fish stated they saw something peculiar cross the road.  They stopped to try to get a second chance to view what they described as a small creature running on two legs.  They said it went to the east and asked if we had witnessed anything strange before.  We could not help but smile and stated you must have caught a rare glimpse of the Fort Stevenson State Park Leprechaun.

According to Britannica “The word Leprechaun derives ultimately from Old Irish luchorpan meaning little body.

We wish you the best of luck as you head out on this quest.
