Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

Prunella vulgaris, also known as heal-all, common self-heal, woundwort and heart-of-the-earth (among other names) is a member of the mint family. It has a club-like flower head, from which a large number of violet tubular flowers emerge. It is commonly found in gardens, wasteland and road verges, It is native to areas of Europe, Asia, Africa and North America, as well as being introduced more widely – it is considered invasive in Australia and New Zealand. As the common names suggest, it is traditionally used in medicine across a number of regions for a wide variety of aliments, including stopping bleeding, diphtheria, heart disease and sore throats. Herbal drinks made from heal-all are still found in South China and among the Nlakaʼpamux First Nations people of British Colombia and Washington state.
