This cache is a 1km walk from the Community Hub which is part of a longer circular walk with lovely views along Kilbirnie Loch.
It is a small/ medium container disguised as surface rubble left from the steelworks era.
If you can locate the remains of an old vehicle, you are close.
Lochshore Park is the newly developed site of the former Glengarnock Steelworks and covers around 250 hectares, including Kilbirnie Loch. There are beautiful accessible circular walks both around the side of the loch and the park with areas of woodland, moorland, wetland and wild flower meadows. It is becoming popular with cyclists and walkers alike, so you must be sneaky to avoid the stares of muggles while searching.
You can park for free, there is a cafe on site for hot drinks and food, there are rugby matches at the weekend which can become quite busy.
Placed with the permission of the Friends of Lochshore conservation volunteers association.
