Continue on the Chemin du Crabbegat!
Here lies one of the last sunken lanes in Brussels: an old cobbled path runs between laurel and beech hedges, behind modern houses and gardens. The name might refer to the marine fossils that were once found there. It partially follows the Wolvendael Park and borders the back of private properties.
Classified, it has been recently renovated. To ensure the stability of the embankments, fascines were integrated, along with the replanting of native trees and shrubs. Furthermore, in order to improve the overall site while preserving its historical appearance, various water management devices were installed, and meticulous work was done on the various surfaces, which were conserved and restored to their original state.
