This locale reminded me of some classic robgso hides. He would find a salad bowl of fallen trees and hide a robgso style well camoed container amidst the arboreal chaos. A finder could spend hours on the knees looking, sometimes to no avail. I would usually find the tether first before the cache.
Well this hide isn't quite so evil, but it may not be a quickie. You are defintiely better off searching during daylight hours. Good luck!
