Mt. Diablo is a majestic and beautiful mountain that has one of the best viewsheds in the United States.You can see parts of 35 out of the 58 Counties that make up California. That being said, Mt. Diabo is also viewable from all those Counties. When travelling thru the state, I always try to find Diablo. Fiding spots with good Views of Mt. Diablo would make for a great series of Geocaches!
Welcome to Holand Tract, one of the almost 200 islands of the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta. Fishing is a popular pastime out here in the Delta and around GZ is onw of many places where you can drive right up to a good fishing spot. I remember coming out here in the early 90s to fish with by buddies.
We were always able to catch aslow moving Channel Cat, but our ultimate goal was to catch a Striper. I learned years later that Striped Bass are an introduced species, native to the Atlantic Ocean. Stripers are now well established and spend their entire life cycle in the Delta.
