Geocache Description:

My best friend has been showing me around his beloved Silver City and was very excited to share that he lives right by the Continental Divide of the Americas.

A continental divide is a boundary that separates a continent's river systems. Each river system feeds into a distinct ocean, bay, or sea. So, this divide (aka the Great Divide) separates the water that runs toward the Pacific Ocean from the water that runs toward the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans and the Gulf of Mexico.

Please enjoy the views of the copper mines and the beauty of the high desert.

Oh! And apparently if you raise your hand to wave as you pass oncoming cars, they do the same! It's a thing here. Very different from NYC and I love it.

(Be careful of the plants in the area, some of them will definitely try to snag at you)
