The idea for the Blue Star Memorial Highway program began in 1945 following the Second World War, as a way to honor the fallen from the war. The program initially began with the New Jersey State Council of Garden Clubs, and quickly became a national program, eventually extending to byways, cemeteries, and more relevent, rest areas. As you arrive at this stop, you will see the marker standing out front.
I wanted to take the opportunity to place my own blue star here for you to find. Those familiar with the previous cache shouldn't have a challenge finding it. You'll be looking for a blue bison hidden in the usual way.
