Wieś Swołowo, położona w gminie Słupsk, jest jedną z najciekawszych wsi kaszubskich na Pomorzu i okrzyknięta stolicą „Krainy w kratę”.
Zachowało się tu 70 budynków w konstrukcji szachulcowej, nadal zamieszkałych. Swołowo jest rzadkim typem wsi placowej, zwanej owalnicą, ze stawem pośrodku, tworząc współczesny skansen.
Samych muzealnych obiektów jest tu 15. Znajdują się w trzech różnych miejscach wsi.

The village of Swołowo, located near the Słupsk , is one of the most interesting Kashubian villages in Pomerania and hailed as the capital of the "The Checkered Land".
There are 70 half-timbered buildings preserved here, still inhabited. Swołowo is a rare type of square village, called an owalnica, with a pond in the middle, creating a modern open-air museum.
There are 15 museum objects here. They are located in three different places in the village.
