I love wandering around downtown Chicago when I've got some spare time in the day. To that end I decided to hide a cache by starting in the Loop and taking random CTA buses until I was satisified I had traveled far enough.
Here's the path I took. Of course taking the same buses I did is completely optional but I'd recommend it! You get to visit parts of the city you wouldn't ordinarily see.
- Start: Michigan Ave and Roosevelt Rd
- The first bus I saw was line 3, so I hopped on. I got off a little bit further north up Michigan.
- The next bus I saw was line 26, and I took that until Michigan/Randolph.
- Then I took bus 157 to Fairbanks/Erie.
- From there I saw bus 66, so I took that until Chicago/Clark.
- I wanted to keep going north, and I saw that line 22 going north stopped one block east of me, so I headed to Dearborn/Chicago and hopped on the 22 there.
- I got off the 22 at Clark/Division, when I saw line 70 just around the corner. I took that until Dearborn/Maple.
- I walked one block east to State/Maple so I could take bus 36 going back northwest. It was delayed but I got to spend a bit of time in a delightful little plaza tucked away between the streets of the Gold Coast neighborhood. I eventually got on 36 and took it until Clark/North.
- I got on line 72 and got off at North/Sedgwick. When I got off I saw line 37 going southbound but at that point I was getting pretty tired and I wanted to go home. Thus, I placed the cache somewhere on this intersection.
I've added a "1" at the end of the title of this cache because I think I might hide a cache like this again - it's fun!
BYOP (and maaaybe some tweezers), watch for muggles, and happy finding!
