Pascagoula Train Staion was opened in April of 1904 and served as a hub for train traffic through Pascagoula and the Mississippi gulf coast. It was closed in 1971, and in 1974 it was registered as a National Historic Place.
Recently, Amtrak has added a stop to the area in attempts to bring back passenger traffic.
