PR6 #8 - Açude da Sereia Traditional Cache

Esta cache integra um conjunto de 74 geocaches que visam dar a conhecer os percursos pedestres de Pampilhosa da Serra, através de 9 powertrail’s, com o intuito de valorizar um território de beleza ímpar que “Inspira Natureza”.

O projeto GeoPampilhosa, para além de contribuir para a promoção turística do concelho de Pampilhosa da Serra, pretende dar a conhecer o vasto património natural, cultural e paisagístico deste território.

Ao longo do PR6 PPS - Caminho do Xisto de Porto de Vacas, com início e fim sugerido em Porto de Vacas (sentido horário), podem encontrar 8 caches, sendo esta a última do conjunto (http://www.cm-pampilhosadaserra.pt/uploads/writer_file/document/2225/PR6.pdf).

This geocache includes a set of 74 geocaches that aim to make known the hiking trails of Pampilhosa da Serra, through 9 powertrails, with the purpose of valorizing a territory of unique beauty that "Inspire Nature".

The GeoPampilhosa project, besides contributing to the tourist promotion of the municipality of Pampilhosa da Serra, intends to show the vast natural, cultural and landscape heritage of this territory.

Quase na reta final desta jornada, acompanhados pelo Zêzere, uma “aparição” durante um CITO (2024), criou uma nova lenda em torno do açude, sugerindo um pequeno desvio ao percurso pedestre.

A narrativa contada pelos bravos que plantaram árvores, fala de uma sereia que guarda o açude e a azenha de Porto de Vacas.

Saboreando o momento, com uma vista magnífica sobre a água que se precipita sobre o açude, na esperança de alcançar um vislumbre sobre a bela sereia, é tempo de regressar ao ponto de partida.

Almost in the final stretch of this journey, accompanied by Zêzere river, an “appearance” during a CITO (2024), created a new legend around the dam, suggesting a small detour to the hiking trail.

The narrative told by the brave people who planted trees tells of a mermaid who guards the dam and watermill of Porto de Vacas.

Savoring the moment, with a magnificent view of the water that rushes over the reservoir, hoping to catch a glimpse of the beautiful mermaid, it is time to return to the starting point.
