How do knots and holes from knots in trees happen?
So we now know how knots arise; they are essentially a dead branch that has become embedded in newly produced wood. But how does the knothole form? Because the branch is dead prior to the time it is engulfed by the expanding, living tree trunk tissue, it is often only weakly connected to the surrounding tissues. This is why it can fall out and create a HOLE.
Another type of knot is the type you tie into a rope or string. One common type of knot is a snake knot.
Be sure to use stealth and replace as found. The container is about 8 inches in length but has just a micro-sized spot for a log and swag.
