Geocache Description:

When placing these caches we took into account parking, the lack of scratchy things (e.g. blackberry) and a suitable hiding place. The hides are mundane but are there to be found.
You will be travelling on tar sealed or metal roads; state highways, main roads between towns and side roads.
Please note: the Tauherenikau Straight (State Highway 2) now has a speed limit of 80 kph; Bidwell's Cutting Road (between Greytown and Martinborough) and State Highway 53 (between Featherston and Martinborough) have a speed limit of 100 kph.  Please take care when retrieving a cache placed on these roads.

The Apple series back story:
A few years ago NZ_B was asked to place puzzle caches for those cachers who needed 100 unsolved puzzles south of S40° 30.000 so they could complete the GC5G2PM 100, 10, 7 Challenge (Wellington). However, not wanting to repeat the same puzzle several times her creative powers ran out, so she put the idea ‘on the back burner’ until... she went to the Rutherglen Mega in 2023 with Itchyfeet2020 and the Seagnoid where they completed the 154 wherigo cache EASTER 2023 geoart (archived 15/04/24). So, why not create a geoart involving wherigos and puzzles? At that stage there were 61 wherigos in NZ: one more than the number needed to be found for a diamond badge. With some more wherigos NZ cachers would have a better chance to getting the wherigo diamond badge. But there was still the problem of making the geo art puzzles interesting to solve. Infoferret solved that problem when the Nifty Swifty series was published in November 2023. So, using her idea, cachers from around the country were asked if they would like to write puzzles and here they are. We hope everyone enjoys them!
