In honor of Acme's beautiful shoreline along the east arm of Grand Traverse Bay, PeeFam is proud to place our first geocache (with many more to hopefully follow). After finding 300 caches, mostly in this region, my kids and I decided we need to place some of our own on this side of town in the northeast part of Grand Traverse county.
Acme Roadside Park is a small space with vast views of Old Mission Peninsula and the base of Traverse City. One can come here in the evenings to take in all the lights that dot the west side of East Bay, and watch cars drive back and forth. A great place to use the restroom, have a picnic, and stretch your legs to grab a cache while driving through Acme.
The water levels are quite low, compared to the Great Lakes record-level highs from 2020. This cache may require some wading in the near future if water levels go back up. Parking is available at the Roadside Park and the small packer bottle cache can be accessed by taking a short stroll down the rocky beach.
