The city of Shibata offers activities to help children develop a love of their hometown through learning about the history, culture, nature, industry, and other aspects of their hometown as well as the challenges it faces. Through various experiences, we aim to nurture a "love for one's hometown" and a "sense of pride in one's hometown. At Toyoura Elementary School, students learned about the charms of the Toyoura area and the connection between the thoughts and wishes of the people and their own, and created "Shin Toyoura Karuta". The Shin Toyoura Karuta, which the children created by interacting with local residents and experiencing the charms of the Toyoura area, expresses the children's wish to "restore the vitality of the community”.

新発田市では新発田の歴史や文化、自然、産業など、住むまちの良さや課題など への理解を深める学習を通じて、子どもたちに郷土愛を身に着けてもらう活動があります。 さまざまな体験をする中で、「ふるさとを愛する心」や「ふるさとを誇れる気持ち」を育んでもらうこ とを目指しています。 豊浦小学校では豊浦地区の魅力や人々の思いや願いと自分とのつながりを学習し、『シン・豊浦かるた』の制作を行いました。制作にあたり、地域の方と交流することで、豊浦地区の魅力に触れできたシン・豊浦かるたには、子どもたちの「地域の元気を取り戻したい」という願いが込められています。
