Withernsea is a seaside resort and civil parish in Holderness, East Riding of Yorkshire.
It is known for its beautiful sandy beach, the historic Withernsea Lighthouse, and the Pier Towers. Withernsea was first mentioned during Saxon times when it was known as Whithornsea meaning “White thorn by the water” and was reckoned to one or two miles from the sea.
