Lochshore Park is the newly developed site of the former Glengarnock Steelworks and covers around 250 hectares, including Kilbirnie Loch. There are beautiful accessible circular walks both around the side of the loch and the park with areas of woodland, moorland, wetland and wild flower meadows. It is becoming popular with cyclists and walkers alike, so you must be sneaky to avoid the stares of muggles while searching.
To find this cache you'll need to leave the park trail and take the old farm tracks along side some new deer fencing. Turn right at the T junction and you are close. No need to go through the large gate.
You can park for free, there is a cafe on site for hot drinks and food, there are rugby matches at the weekend which can become quite busy.
