Mt Simon is a 49-acre park located on Dell's Pond, along the Chippewa River. Mt Simon Park has a boat landing and a dock, 2 picnic pavilions, 2 lighted sand volleyball courts, and an 9-hole disc golf course. Mt. Simon Park is also home to Eau Claire's Babe Ruth Baseball program, and the upper part of the park has 2 ball fields. Mt Simon Park also has one of the highest points in Eau Claire, and the best view of Dells Pond for those who wish to climb to the Top Of The World.
Prior to the annual CITO here, Rustie and I went for a walk to scope out new cache locations. This tall stump was filled with crushed Coors Lite cans, so I took em out, disposed of them and made it a cache site instead. I also made sure I was at leat 528 feet from the new cache on the other side of the mountain. Rustie and I liked that one quite a bit.
