Placed for Fraser Valley Cache Bash 7
Welcome to the Welcome To....Series
These caches are placed at spots I remember from growing up in this area.
This site has been a mobile home park since I was about 6 or 7. I never understood why my parents always called it Box Car City. In 1946, North Vancouver replaced all of it's streetcars with new trolley buses. Some of the streetcars were bought and set up at this site as holiday cabins. I guess that venture didn't work out because April 23,1952 the Ruskin Drive-In had their grand opening. It was a really big deal! I'm sure lots of people have a story to tell about being at this drive in. It closed down in the early 70s. I believe a major storm blew through and the screen was ripped apart. The property was sold and stands as it is today.
The cache is located on the border of Maple Ridge and Mission. You are looking for a small container. Please bring your own pen/pencil. Include your own drive-in story if you have one in your log.
