This is a lovely part of Carlisle and less than a mile from the city centre. Young people use this area regularly for athletics, which take place over the bridge. You are also very close to Hadrians Road which you can join on a footpath which begins close to Carlisle bypass. The walk will take you along the river, under Eden Bridges then along Rickerby Park to the suspension bridge.
