Geocache Description:

Born on May 9, 1924, Judge Gordon Thompson served Williston wearing many hats. He left a legacy of planting an maintaining 10,000 trees and working to preserve the Little Muddy River and nearby Fort Union and Fort Buford. As a judge, he was known to make friends with those he incarcerated, maintaining a level of respect between one another only a judge with great integrity could. On the day this geocache was placed (May 9, 2024) Gordon Thompson would have been 100 years old. He spent so much of his life dedicated to Williston community and the betterment of the Little Muddy. So enjoy this multicache at Thompson Landing, and enjoy the small insight of Williston history and the legacy left behind by a pillar of this community.
