[RO] Aflând despre traseul turistic recent amenajat prin pădurea Mârzești, ne-am propus să îl explorăm pentru a descoperi noi locuri de plasat cutii. Cum ne plimbam pe poteci, am ajuns într-un luminiș unde am zărit două veverițe luând masa de prânz pe o mică buturugă. Entuziasmați, ne-am apropiat ușor de ele, cu gândul să le facem o poză, dar am fost imediat observați și, spre marea noastră uimire, una dintre ele ne-a salutat și ne-a invitat să ne apropiem. (Exact! Nici noi nu știam că veverițele vorbesc, dar se pare că în acest joc orice este posibil!)
Astfel, după o prezentare rapidă, am aflat că se numesc Cip și Dale și că locuiesc în această pădure de 5 ani. Foarte vorbărețe din fire, ne-au povestit despre strategia lor de aprovizionare cu alune (o strategie cam păguboasă, din punctul nostru de vedere) și Dale chiar ne-a arătat carnețelul în care ținea evidența alunelor consumate de ea în fiecare an - o veveriță chibzuită, ca un adevărat roman. (Atașăm poza cu carnețelul ca să ne credeți pe cuvânt).
Acum 5 ani, Cip și Dale s-au mutat în pădure, având fiecare propria rezervă de alune. În fiecare an, Dale a mâncat de două ori mai multe alune decât Cip. La final de an, fiecare veveriță și-a completat rezerva, strângând jumătate din cantitatea de alune pe care a mâncat-o în anul respectiv.
La sfârșitul celui de-al cincilea an au strâns în total 90 de alune astfel încât Cip a rămas cu 130 de alune și Dale cu 252 de alune.

[EN] Learning about the tourist trail recently laid out through the Mârzești forest, we set out to discover new places for placing caches. As we were walking along the trail, we came to a meadow where we spotted two squirrels having lunch on a small log. Excited, we approached them slightly, intending to take a picture, but we were immediately spotted and one of them greeted us and invited us to come closer. (Exactly! We didn't know squirrels talk, but apparently anything is possible in this game!)
Thus, after a quick introduction, I found out that their names are Cip and Dale and that they have been living in this forest for 5 years. Very chatty, they told us about their peanut stocking strategy (a pretty bad one, in our opinion) and Dale even showed us the notebook where he kept track of the peanuts he eats every year - a very smart squirrel, like a true Romanian.

5 years ago, Cip and Dale moved into the woods, each with their own stock of peanuts. Every year, Dale ate twice as many peanuts as Cip. At the end of the year, each squirrel has replenished its supply by collecting half the amount of peanuts eaten by him that year.
At the end of the fifth year, they have replenished a total of 90 peanuts. Therefore, Cip is left with 130 peanuts and Dale with 252 peanuts.
