Geocache Description:

CITO - Lake Weeroona - Bendigo

The Council is happy for us to assist them in picking up all of the little pieces of litter that end up in the lake, AND, we can do this whilst we enjoy the beautiful location.

Where: Lake Weeroona area - I have attached a map of litter zones (highlighted in yellow).  I will be located at a table in the pavillion with a logbook, bags and latex gloves (near the playground and toilet area).

Parking: Plenty of dedicated parking around the lake is available, and in nearby streets

When: 8:30am til 9:30am, Saturday 25 May 2024

What do I need to do?: Well, CITOs are events that involve participation by the attendee, this CITO is about picking up the litter that ends up in the lake (paper coffee cups, wrappers, cigarette butts etc). Geocaching also needs to be an inclusive and welcoming game to everyone, and we understand that people have different abilities, so please come along and participate in this clean up CITO to the best of your ability.  There are accessible flat pathways and disability parking available. No, we are not giving prizes to those who collect the most rubbish, this is about participating at your own pace and assisting the environment.

Anything else?: You may choose to bring tongs or a grabber/reacher/pick-up tool if you have one to protect your back.  Please dress accordingly as this CITO is an outside event (jacket, hat, sunscreen, raincoat - who knows!).

Everyone is welcome

PS I have on good authority that there may even be a little treat or two to enjoy for participants.
