What better way to introduce you to Crown Point State Historic Site than to bring you to the entrance (or what once was) of Fort St. Frederic!! According to the infomational kiosks here, the ruins of this fort has survived substantially unchanged since the late 18th century. This area first commanded by the French and then the British durng the 18th century. Grab a map, take a tour, visit the museum, and just soak in the history here. Of course, do this after you grab this smiley and another stamp in your NYS Parks Geocaching Challenge passport.
This cache is part of the 2024 New York State Saratoga/Capital District Regional Geocache Challenge! The stamp inside this cache is part of the game, and it is not a trade item – please do not take the stamp. There are 72 geocaches hidden within 18 state parks and historic sites in this park region, and geocachers finding 45 or more will be eligible to receive a 2024 NYS Parks centennial commemorative and trackable geocoin. If you are interested in taking the challenge, you can pick up a geocache passport at any of the participating parks and sites or download it at www.nysparks.com
