The Preface
This Wherigo (WIG) cache came about after an interesting conversation with @theladyofthewolves about her interest in creating WIG caches. I had previously explored the builder and found it to be outdated software running on an old Windows OS. However, something she mentioned reignited my interest—she has a friend who is still actively producing cartridges. Intrigued, I spent the next two evenings watching YouTube videos that are at least 9 to 10 years old. Long story short, the Urwigo builder still works but is terribly unreliable, and after many rebuilds, here is my first WIG cache.
The WIG Cache
Punggol Park Fun is a straightforward WIG game that feels like an old-school Adventure Lab that includes a physical cache at the final location. It should take around 30 minutes to complete on foot, and even faster if you cycle. This game is family friendly, with a terrain rating of 2 due to the distance required (about 1.3 km). Have fun exploring Punggol Park. Do let me know if you encounter any bugs or issues with the game.
To find a WIG Cache:
- Wherigo App: You’ll need an app capable of playing Wherigo cartridges on your iPhone or Android device (more details here).
- Game Cartridge: Download the game cartridge from the Wherigo website. Choose the cartridge file for Pocket PC Device if you are using iPhone or Android device.
- Game Completion: The game will conclude once you reach the designated location in the Wherigo game. You will receive a Wherigo completion code and the physical cache location
- Logging on Geocaching Site: To log it as found on the geocaching site, you will need to find the physical cache and sign the log.
- Logging on Wherigo Site: With the completion code, you can log it as complete on the Wherigo site (this may not work for some users, it didn't work for me when i completed other WIG cartridges)
