Lord of the Rings - Middle Earth
This cache is our fist geocache, and the first in a series of LOTR inspired cahces that we will hide in the local area.
The cache is hidden in a woodland coppice on the Teddersley estate in Penkridge. JRR Tolkien was stationed on Cannock Chase during the first world war, during that time he lived at Gypsy Green on the Teddersley estate 1915/1916, and may have drawn inspiration from the area for the LOTR... who knows lol.
The cahce is intended to be child friendly but there is a short walk involved to get to the location.
We reccomend parking on the Teddersley road to really appreciate the location. The route forms part of the staffordshire way and is little known to other walkers so its a bit of a hidden gem. You can quite often see deer in the woods where the cache is hidden.
The chache is child friendly, medium size with space for swag. There is a steam near by but there is no need to search close to the water for this cache. However you will need to stray from the path slightly to find it. And search low.
Parking is shown in blue and the start of the trail in yellow below. Good luck :)
