Geocache Description:

The 46th in the Rest 'n Peace - Centre County series takes you to a 130 year old but still active family plot cemetery. Portions of this cemetery have an almost terraced look to them as a majority of burials here are in family plots; large rectangular areas with stone or concrete walls sectioning them off. Although the last burial was in 2011 and the area was allowed to decay since then, in the past year a resurgence of due respect and diligence has made this a burial location pleasant to visit once again.

As you walk down the hill towards the cache, take note of the fence gate on the lower right portion of the burial grounds. The Valentine Iron Works and a large collection of woodworking and metalworking shops used to exist at the base of this hill just beyond the fence. Long since shuttered, the gate once led to a well-travelled path that led down the hill to these areas. You will not need to exit the fence though, as the cache is within the cemetery grounds.

As with any and all cemetery caches, please be respectful of those interred here should you choose to walk the serene grounds. The cache should be an easy find for most cachers, but the youngest seekers may have trouble with this as it is not directly visible. Should you wish to search for relatives buried here, public websites have full listings of known burials.
