🚗 About Ode to US Route 54 🚘

Welcome to the east side of Duran. This cache was relocated due to repeated muggling. To get credit for your find, please post a picture of the trio of signs nearby. If you're interested, the GC owner will reply with the exact coordinates of the cache. Enjoy the location and story below:

From this location you will see beautiful sunsets and an amazing pinon tree along the road. Hopefully you will have a chance to visit the other locations for more information on this small little town. Here is a brief overview of the history of Route 54, the main highway that runs through Duran.

Originally part of the Ozark Trail, a pioneering transcontinental highway, Highway 54 has played a vital role in connecting the rural communities of Eastern New Mexico with the rest of the state and the nation. The road spans from Griggsville, Illinois to El Paso, Texas. In New Mexico, Highway 54 extends from the Texas state line by Chaparral, New Mexico and ends at the Textas state line by Nara Visa, New Mexico. The highway runs for just over 356 miles in New Mexico.
