401 @ Fountain Carpool CITO - Car Rally Edition Cache In Trash Out® Event

This cache has been archived.

BWJM: Thanks so much to everyone who braved the unseasonably cold breeze to come pick up trash from one of our local carpool lots. As shown in a couple photos I posted earlier, many bags were filled again this time. The local environment is just a little bit better thanks to our collective efforts.

Geocache Description:

401 / Fountain St. Carpool Lot CITO

Location: MTO Carpool Lot, Hwy. 401 at Fountain St., Cambridge
Date: Saturday, May 31st, 2025
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

There is no alternate date for this event. Please dress accordingly. If you feel like starting early or ending late, please do, but the event itself will occur as stated above.

The purpose of this event is to help clean up the carpool lot and surrounding area. Carpool lots are notorious for litterbugs and are thus a great place for frequent CITO events. This one is no exception!

I will be located at or near the posted coordinates, and will have a logbook for individuals to sign into if they choose. Feel free to bring trackables for discovery or drop-off. There is also a cache on-site! I will have garbage bags, gloves and trash grabbers available courtesy of the City of Cambridge, although you may wish to bring your own. You may also want to bring your own high-visibility clothing, water and snacks as these items will not be supplied.

The terrain ranges from flat, paved surfaces to ditches, grassland and bushes.

Trash will be collected and placed in or beside the bins near the posted coordinates.

Sharps WarningSHARPS WARNING

If during your activities you discover any sharps such as needles or other drug-related materials, DO NOT touch them. Alert the event host who will mark the location and call for specialized pickup of the hazardous waste. Sharps and other drug-related materials could cause serious injury, infection or exposure to potentially deadly substances.

The only cure for litter is you

Thank you, Cambridge!
