This has always been one of my favorite parks in Chesapeake. Northwest River Park is located on the banks of the Northwest River in Southeastern Chesapeake, VA, it is a 763-acre park with an excellent blend of natural beauty and recreational activities. Year-round boating, fishing, hiking, and programs are available. There is an 18-hole disc golf course, miniature golf course, horseshoes, volleyball nets, and so much more. The park has 66 campsites and 2 cabins. Ranger station has been removed and is being rebuilt. Temporary quarters are in a trailer in the first parking lot.
Cache is along the Deer Island Trail. Just a few steps off the trail. When you see the Trail Courtesy Sign you are very close. Cache was placed on a beautiful morning, cool weather, partially sunny, and as I stood here trying to think of a name for the cache listening to the birds and enjoying the weather I thought "What a peaceful morning". Moving the cache on 3/22/2025 on another beautiful morning in the park.
