Welcome to the "old Riverbed" a unique wetland seemilngly far from the river!
Beavers have recently been released into this enclosure to manage the woodland which is encroaching on the old riverbed habitat. A unique habitat and an SSSI.
This is part of a 5 mile loop, but can be approached with a short walk if you are in the area.
This cache is placed in an SSSI and with the kind permissison of Shrewsbury Town Council and Natural England.
A while ago I was looking at the map of greenspaces around Shrewsbury and thought I must be able to make a nice loop from my home in Frankwell and visit some of these. By the time I actually got around to it I had a nice stash of cache materials so filled my backpack to make a day of it.
