The proposed bridge will cross the river in the area adjacent to the new cemetery and the high voltage line running close to it as seen from the left bank as per Sindh City Master Plan Map. The length of the section is 1.5 kilometers. If you follow it on the map, it passes quite close to the residential area of Kalda tee.
The bridge planned in the first stage has a 1+1 lane and is connected to the Pärnu–Rakvere–Sõmeru and Pärnu–Tori highways, and the speed of driving there should be up to 90 kilometers per hour. The setting must enable the bridge to be expanded to 2+2 lanes in the future without extensive reconstruction of the roads and the bridge, the maximum permitted speed will then be 120 kilometers per hour.
Tammiste bridge received the most votes out of 48 different names in the name contest referendum held in April 2021.
Based on the national road maintenance plan updated in January 2020, the construction of the Tammiste bridge should start in 2024 and last until 2026.
