Geocache Description:

This cache is to draw your attention to two WIG's focussing on some knowledge sharing about the far away Germany.
What is remarkable of Germany which is more than 8.900 km away in the West is its almost countless numbers of ancient buildings.

Some 25,000 castles, palaces and stately homes bear witness to Germany's history: from magnificent, perfectly preserved landmarks to ruined reminders of glory.

Magnificent palaces of great rulers

Germany is home to a wide variety of castles and palaces, from simple manor houses to the prestigious residences of great ruling dynasties, such as Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam. Known as the "Prussian Versailles", this palace was built by order of the Hohenzollern King Frederick II. Together with its park, this rococo building has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990. Another favourite of the Hohenzollern dynasty was Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin.

The moated castle of Moritzburg, near the Saxon capital of Dresden, was the emblem of the noble Wettin dynasty. The baroque estate includes the Little Pheasant Palace, which can be seen from Moritzburg Castle, 2.5km away.

There are many more awesome buildings. You have to name two in the pattern of

To feed the Certitude Checker with the correct answer take a look into GCARP85 and identify the famous 19th-century historicist palace built on a rugged hill of the foothills of the Alps in the very south of Germany, near the border with Austria.

... and into GCARP92 to name the castle that is still owned by a branch of the builder's family who have lived there since the 12th century. Breathtaking - the castle in question is one of only three castles in the Eifel region that have never been destroyed.
