Olalla Grange
The grange location was originally Fragraria School, over time lots of things were unsafe about it. The old school was bought by the Olalla Grange in 1959. They discovered a boat was in the main meeting room, they had to remove an entire wall to get the boat out. Then, they put up a new wall after the boat was gone. There was broken glass and nails removed also. People brought chairs from the Salvation Army for 76 cents each. The first meeting in this new property was held on April 24, 1959.
In the 60's, it burned to the ground. With help from a loan from the state grange association they began to rebuild the grange out of concrete blocks.
Scout troop 528 was formed in 1958 for local boys. When the Olympic Council of Scouts merged with the Chief Seattle Council, they added a 1 in front of the number to make it troop 1528. In 2019 Scouts BSA started having troops for girls. In 2023, Troop 8528 for girls started alongside Troop 1528.
Today the Olalla Grange and the Scouts aim to be forces of good in the community.
