Geocache Description:

Prepare for a journey that will uncover some of the lost stories of the struggle toward freedom throughout the city of New Haven. In this series of six caches hidden by upper elementary students in New Haven, you will be guided to sites of resistance, resilience, and abolition, where ordinary people did extraordinary things to work toward a more perfect union. Log all six in the series and head to Lost in New Haven to uncover a treasure trove!

In this site, beneath the gaze of a native New Havener and contemporary abolitionist, learn about another native New Havener and black suffragist Sarah Lee Brown Fleming, whose home at 316 Dwight Street was only a half a mile from this hub for community care.

Please leave the stamp and ink!
