Geocache Description:


This geocache is owned and maintained by Lake Metigoshe State Park. Entrance fees apply in the amount of $7/vehicle/day or $35 for a single annual pass or $55 family pass for two annual passes going to those within the same household. Entrance fees can be paid at the entrance station via staff or self-registration, online at www.parkrec.nd.gov or at the main office during business hours. Parking can be found by the Maid O Moonshine comfort station or overflow parkign area near the entrance/exit of Washegum Campground. 

This cache is located on a wildlife trail, just off of the Old Oak Trail which is North Dakota's first National Recreation Trail. Built by the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) in 1974, it was dedicated by Governor Arthur Link in 1976. This self-guided interpretive trail is approximately three miles in length and takes about two hours to hike. Brochures cooinciding with the trail can be found in the park's main office or the Warming House.
