History
Jemmys Point is in my opinion the best lookout in Lakes Entrance and since they renovated the lookout in mid-late 2023 creating and rebuilding a new road, footpaths, picnic tables, toilets, a BBQ area and the main lookout platform with the seats added a little bit later it became a great location for a picnic or a cuppa to enjoy the view. The only issue is you actually (as of the time of writing this) can’t really see the entrance all that well as there are trees in the way so does anyone have a chainsaw!?
Back in the day the tall structure was used for navigation out at sea and is still in partial use and before the lookout was made, the tall tree to the left of the lookout was used as a lookout for incoming ships from 1889. Jemmy’s Point was also used for families of fishermen to watch them come home.
There is parking at Jemmy's which is listed in the waypoints and it is mandatory for you to look at the view before or after finding the cache (only joking) but it is an amazing view so please if you have spare time go and take a look.
The Cache
You are looking for a small camo eclipse mint container with no room for swaps. Also make sure that you cannot see the cache from the track so please replace the cache in same spot.
