Escape (Room) to Victory!
This is a Community Celebration event which also includes the opportunity take part in a geocaching-themed escape room activity.
Anyone can attend this event even if you're not taking part in the escape room activity and just want to attend the main event. To take part in the ecape room, however, you must book! As well as the escape room, the event will comprise the following elements:
- A log book for you to sign or stamp
- Tea, coffee, water, squash and nibbles
- A swap table for trackables (If you bring a large trackable please be prepared to take another away with you!)
- A free FTF raffle which will be drawn towards the end of the event
- A geocaching-related quiz sheet
- Other games and activities TBA!
Important Information
- This event will take place in my house and garden. Please treat my home with respect just as you'd hope from anyone who visited yours
- Please enter via the side gate, to the right of number 9. This will be clearly labelled. Do not enter via the front garden.
- Please do not bring dogs to this event. There isn't much room and I don't really like dogs much anyway!
- Children are welcome to attend. They are obviously your responsibility and bad behaviour may result in their being sold into slavery.
Parking
There is absolutely no parking in my road! Please park either on the north side of Upper Long Leys Road (max two hours) or in one of the pay-and-display car parks in Westgate (see additional waypoints) A small number of resident permit scratchcards may be available for parking on the south side of Upper Long Leys Road, Willis Close or certain parts of Burton Road. These permits are first-come-first served. Please return them to me when you leave so that they can be used by others attending later in the day.
The Escape Room
If you have not taken part in an escape room before, here is a brief summary. Teams are presented with a series of tasks and puzzles to solve, using skill, knowledge and teamwork. Team members must work together to complete the tasks and 'escape' from the locked room. (You won't really be in a locked room, but you get the idea!)
If you'd like to take part, you will need to form a team of at least two people up to a maximum of four. You will then need to book a slot using the booking form below. Please make one booking for your team, not for individual members. If for any reason your plans change and you can no longer attend, please contact me AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so that I can cancel your booking and make your slot available to another team. I will take a dim view of teams who book and then don't turn up!
It is your responsibility to arrive in good time for your slot. if you arrive late, you may still be able to take part but you will just have less time to escape.
By booking a slot, you are confirming that no one in your team has any health or access needs that might affect their participation. The activity takes part outside but under cover and all on one level. There are two small steps up into the garden. There is no crawling, climbing, skating swimming or hang gliding required.
There are a limited number of slots available so book early to avoid disappointment!
