What this is: GIFF stands for Geocaching International Film Festival. Any geocacher from anywhere in the world can make a short geocaching film (1-4mins) and submit it to be part of the GIFF finalists. All submissions are judged by GCHQ and selected volunteers, to pick out the best. Which then are assembled in the GIFF Reel to be shown worldwide at events like this one.
Who this is for: Everyone! Whether you are a newbie or a seasoned veteran, the film reel is guaranteed to be quite entertaining. By attending this event, you will also earn a digital GIFF 2025 souvenir for your geocaching profile.
What's a better way to celebrate the geocaching community, than enjoying some short films made by the members of said community from around the world!?
And this time, bring your popcorn đż, or other snacksđ„Ș if you want! We will be in the Wharekai, meaning that food and drink is allowed. (No alcohol đ«)
As this is a Community Celebration event, we will celebrate GIFF by having a brief look at the history of it.
This yearâs GIFF theme is âTFTCâThanks For The Community!â and the color is silver, the traditional gift for a 25th anniversary.
More than 60 filmmakers from 21 countries submitted a film to the 11th GIFF and here are this yearâs 20 GIFF finalists:

Those who can't wait to see some GIFF movies, you can rewatch last year's 2023 Reel, 2021 Reel or this "Best of GIFF" selection from Groundspeak (featuring Chch's own DNF Squad!).
