TFTC-----Thanks For The Community!
...is the theme for the 2025 Geocaching International Film Festival (GIFF) as "we [are] celebrating 25 years of geocaching [while] also celebrating the amazing community that has built this game for a quarter century." The selected winners of this year's films sumitted from geocachers around the world will be shown over the course of about an hour by GameForTravel (Bobby Hall). By attending this event and posting an "Attended" log, you will receive a special souvenir for your geocaching profile. After the presentation, you will have the opportunity to vote for your favorite film.
This GIFF event is being combined with a Community Celebration Event. To give the presenter time to set up, we will spend time sharing our names and "user" names, favorite geocache, most despised DNF, favorite Tool Of The Trade (TOTT), current number of finds (but who's counting?), latest find, latest hide, upcoming events, etc. OR one might mention a kind, supportive, helpful geocaching friend (or volunteer reviewer) and thank them for being them. If you have not yet attended a Community Celebration Event, you will also receive a souvenir for participating in this event.
The show should start at 10:00, and popcorn will be served. BYOB (no alcohol, please)
After the show, you will have the opportunity to vote for your favorite film and continue any discussion of geocaching topics. Beginners are welcome to ask any questions they may have as most experienced geocachers are ready and willing to share their adventures.
This event will be held at the Cedar Glade Conference Room located at the visitor center at Long Hunter State Park (2910 Hobson Pike, Hermitage).
